“Sergeant York” is an acrylic portrait of the famous WWI hero, Alvin York. One of the most decorated WWI soldiers, he earned his Medal of Honor by leading the charge against a German MG nest. They captured 35 MG’s, he eliminated 25 enemy, and they captured 132 prisoners. In this painting, from a photo taken in 1919, York is wearing the Medal of Honor and French Croix de Guerre with Palm.
